This weekend isn’t just about Halloween – it’s also Día de los Muertos, a holiday that celebrates life by honoring those who’ve passed. It’s always struck me as one of the most beautiful traditions: keeping connection alive through remembrance. In a way, that’s what so many food pop-ups do too. Each dish tells a story, reviving memories, places, and people who shaped the chef behind it. So this weekend, we’re featuring five pop-ups that may not all be Día de los Muertos–themed, but they still channel the same spirit of bringing the past to the table.
Club Soda
Cellar 36 // 36 Market St, NYC // Fri 10.31

Alright, alright – you want a taste of Halloween? Club Soda is here to give it to ya. Tonight at Cellar 36, they’re featuring an offal-focused menu and addictive Chinese bar snacks. Hearts, gizzards, and intestines – spooky stuff (to some)! First come, first serve – so, swing by starting at 5pm and order before they’re out!
Torshi
noa, a café // 34 E 32nd St, NYC // Fri 10.31

What you probably already know is noa, a café, is known for making killer cinnamon rolls… what you might not know (unless you have 8it 🤗) is they opened a Persian pop-up called Torshi. Launching for just the month of October, tonight is the last night you can get yourself a taste of their Persian dishes like Bureka and Crispy Saffron Rice, that’s quite the show stopper.
Kin4LK x PapiTropical
Frog // 358 Marcus Garvey Blvd, BK // Sat 11.1

As if he knew what this week’s Must-Eats was all about… Chef Tamren, aka of Tamarindo, of PapiTropical wrote “Food is how we tell our stories – how we remember, connect, and create across oceans.” That right there is the spirit of all of his pop-ups, and tomorrow’s is no exception. Frog Wine Bar, he’ll be joining forces with South African chef Zimkita Booi of KIN4LK to bring the flavors of the Caribbean, Ecuador, and South Africa on one table. Pssst a little bird told us one of the dishes they’re serving is a sorrel glazed beef rib on the grill, in case you needed another reason to go.
Birria La Flor
Lise & Vito // 126A Nassau, BK // Sat 11.1

Birria La Flor gives you a taste of Tijuana in NYC. Their Birria stews for over twelve hours, producing a bowl of rich and hearty consumé. Tomorrow, that consumé, tacos – and Madre Mezcal – will be at Lise & Vito to warm your bones, and their flan will be there to warm your heart. DJ WifiOG will be kicking off the vibes at 4pm and they’ll go till it’s gone!
Amanda’s Good Morning Cafe
Strange Delight // 63 Lafayette Ave, BK // Every Mon-Thurs thru 11.27

Whether inspired by another country or another state, pop-ups are a celebration of culture. Pastry Chef with a past at Wildair and Roman’s, Amanda Perdomo, is bringing her strong, personal bonds to Louisiana to the tables at Strange Delight through Thanksgiving. Running from 8am-1:30pm Mondays through Thursdays, Amanda is serving up a breakfast and lunch menu that will transport you to New Orleans. Her beignets, grits, stacked sandwiches and pastries are bound to brighten your day.
