Let’s be real…keeping track of all NYC’s food pop-ups and limited-edition dish drops has been nearly impossible. Over the last few decades, pop-ups have been on the rise in NYC and 8it has become the go-to source for tracking all of them and helping these entrepreneurial chefs get discovered. From chef residencies to sidewalk pop-ups, we’ve sifted through the culinary chaos on Instagram to bring you a handpicked selection of NYC’s finest pop-ups and limited-edition drops that you should dig into this week. Consider this your backstage pass to the hottest pop-ups & limited-edition eats in NYC! Dive into our weekly curated list of upcoming food adventures before they disappear 🧨💥
This week, the Mayoral Debate felt less like a civic event and more like a live-action roast – frankly leaving the me still unsure and hungry for, well, actual food. Thankfully, NYC’s chef’s are here to restore balance. This weekend, we’re skipping the political plate-throwing and heading straight for the good stuff: five must-eat pop-ups and drops that are campaigning for your taste buds’ approval. A Caribbean feast from a Chopped champion, a kitchen takeover at Public Records, Cambodian breakfast for dinner, and more Concord grape sweets than a farmer’s market in September are this weekend’s Must-Eat pop-ups and drops.
Kit an’ Kin
Sleepwalk // 251 Bushwick Ave, BK // Sat 10.25

Food Network Chopped champion, Chef Anya, started to her culinary studio to amplify Caribbean cuisine and stories – and tomorrow, she’s poppin’ out to give you a taste. And it’s not just the Jerk Chicken, Doubles, Lump Crab Curry Doubles, Suya Sliders (just!?) you’ll be treated to – she’s partnered with afro jazz showcase, The Jungle, and other performers to bring you a night of jam sessions accompanied by cocktails by Sleepwalk.
HAGS
Public Records, Atrium // 233 Butler St, BK // Sat 10.25

Named one of Bon Appétit’s “Best New Restaurants of 2023”, not to mention with experience at some of my favorite spots like Wildair, the Queer-owned, East Village restaurant, HAGS, is taking over the kitchen at Public Records tomorrow. Partners, James Beard-nominated Chef Telly Justice (she/her) and Wine Director Camille Lindsley (she/her), are preparing a plant-based, five-course tasting menu with wine pairings in The Atrium at 6pm.
M’Maht
Lise & Vito // 126A Nassau Ave, BK // Sun 10.26

Chef Pauline Buth started M’Maht, not just to spread the immense flavors of Cambodian cuisine, but to share the love, memories, and deep sense of home that these dishes bring her. The pop-up is inspired by her grandmother, Yeay Sek, and the strong women in her family who brought them to the U.S. as refugees and nourished them until they flourished. This Saturday at Lise & Vito in Greenpoint, M’Maht will be serving traditional Cambodian breakfast favorites — Bai Sak Crouk (grilled pork) and Bai Sak Ko Ang (lemongrass beef) – each paired with rice and pickled vegetables. Go get yourself a taste of Cambodian love.
Studio Bumi
Frog Wine Bar // 358 Marcus Garvey Blvd, BK // Sun 10.26

“Friends of the Studio” is Studio Bumi’s series of pop-ups led by friends who’ve grown with them, helped behind the scenes, and are now ready to host a night of their own. Prepare to slide into Sunday, with a menu of just that – sliders! Not just any sliders though, they’re filling potato buns with Longanisa, ‘Sloppy Zhou’, and Vada Pav. Get a taste of all three with the flight and finish the meal off with a PB&J Tiramisu, with sweet peanut butter mascarpone and concord grape ladyfingers.
Grape Smucker’s Uncrustables
Radio Bakery // 135 India St, BK // Thru Sun 10.26

Who doesn’t like an adult version of something they bugged their parents to buy them when they were running around with skinned knees?? No one. Radio Bakery is making all of your dreams come true this weekend, with the final release of their “Grape Smucker’s Uncrustable”. Chocolate peanut crunch, peanut butter mousse, Concord grape jelly & whip. Available through Sunday for you to let your inner child shine.
