Next weekend is all about burgers, hot dogs, and barbecue. We’re not complaining, but before the beautiful monotony of the Fourth of July takes over, let’s give our taste buds one last adventure. Chloe Cooks, who moves between Europe and NYC, has made home at Colbo Next Door this week. Tonight you can get the last of her dinner service, with a bright menu that I frankly want one of everything from. Oeuf Mayo with Sorrel & Wild Garlic Aioli + Anchovies, Gigante Beans with Lemon Zest, Mozzarella with Cherries, Basil & Green Peppercorns, Roast Beef with Salted Horseradish Yoghurt, Fennel Slaw & Pickled Walnuts, all wrapped up with a Chocolate Mousse dessert. Lao food pop-up, Heunkuoa, is dropping some new menu items this weekend at Troost. Pop by and fill your belly with Lao Fried Tofu Salad, Lao Fried Fish Salad, Crispy Rice Salad, Lao Papaya Salad, Lao Herbal Beef Sausage and Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf. For dessert, get their ‘Sweet Water’ shaved ice or the dish they’re most excited about dropping, their new Mango & Sticky Rice with roasted yellow mung bean.

Mexico City is moving into East Village this weekend, with Chefs Jonathan Bautista and Jose Avalos of Enrique Olvera’s Casamata Group collaborating on a menu that’s perfect to pair with a bottle of vino. Somethings on the menu include Aguachile Negro with Octopus, Serrano, Cilantro, and & Black Sauce, Beef Dumplings stuffed with Chipotle-Spiced Beef & Carrot Purée, and last but not least, Carne de Res Tostadas layered with Beans, Onion, and Cilantro.
