Must-Eat Food Pop-Ups & Drops in NYC 2.24-3.2

This week’s Must-Eats celebrates the new and the old. A goodbye that will make our eyes drip like a wonky espresso machine and hellos that will have us hopping on every train in the alphabet to get to. While we are saying goodbye to The Doughnut Project and their finale of drops this weekend, we’ll be hopping on the next train to the never-ending series of hellos and goodbyes that chasing food pop-ups and dish drops entails.

As always, this article is just a small taste of the pop-ups and drops you can find in the 8it app. Hit the green button at the bottom of this article to explore the 8it app.

The Last Doughnut Drops 🥲
West Village // 2.23-2.25

It’s the final weekend of The Doughnut Project’s storied history and while that makes us want to bury our faces into pillows and cry, we’d much rather bury our faces in doughnuts. Let the rivers of tears intersect with Vietnamese coffee pastry cream or marshmallow fluff for the most legendary ugly cry Morton Street has ever seen. S’mores and Vietnamese Coffee Crème Brûlée doughnuts will sing TDP’s swan song, sealing the deal on a glorious ten-year run. Find all the info in the 🧨 Drops category on the 8it app.

The Mud Club
Lower East Side // Fridays-Sundays

If you tuned into the latest episode of What’s Poppin’, you know that Orchard Street is now home to a wondrous wood-fired bagel workshop. But the Mud Club’s product might be unrecognizable to some New Yorkers. They make Montreal-style wood-fired bagels with wood sourced from their farm in Chatham, New York. In typical Montreal style, they’re first boiled in honey water. Plus, they make pastries the size of a newborn. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.

Sunday Supper
Williamsburg // Sundays

📸: @finipizza

Another new pop-up on the trail is Fini Pizza’s Sunday supper, where the recently-opened but highly-acclaimed slice shop is dropping full-scale feasts. On Sunday nights in the back of the shop, break bread over wine and Italian-American specialties. Veal parmigiana, caesar salad, zuppa di mussels and more will get you right to start the week. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.

Tikkun BBQ
Astoria // 2.23 & 2.24

📸: @tikkunbbq

Tikkun BBQ wants to take you on an adventure, but it’s up to you to choose your own destiny. This weekend at Maggie Hall’s, they’re dropping two new burgers straight off the dome, plus their elite Oklahoma-style smash burger. The new contenders are a Oaxaca smash burger with Oaxaca cheese and salsa macha, plus an outrageous PB & J smash burger. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.

Flatbush Oyster Co.
Crown Heights // 2.24

📸: @flatbushoysterco

Tomorrow at the Bodega Lounge, say hello to the freshest oysters money can buy, as Flatbush Oyster Co. will be shucking oysters fresh out of the water day of. Then say goodbye as your slurp ‘em down one by one. But that’s not all, their menu also features a cauliflower caesar salad, head-on peri peri prawns, and an Italian-Caribbean crossover you didn’t know you needed: cavatelli ropa vieja. Cavatelli in a braised short rib ragu with guajillo chiles. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.
