Keeping up with NYC’s food pop-ups and limited dish drops is basically a full-time job. 8it does it for you. We track the most time-sensitive drops across the city (from chef residencies to one-day collabs to sidewalk pop-ups) and every Friday we hand-pick the ones we’re especially excited for. Here’s this weekend’s must-eats…
The best food moments this weekend aren’t coming out of a restaurant’s regular menu, they’re happening when chefs walk into each other’s kitchens and cook. This weekend is stacked with exactly that: reunions, guest takeovers, and drop-ins that exist for one reason only. You either knew to show up or you didn’t. See you out there 8it Fam…

Chef Tristan Kwong

Chef Tristan Kwong is at With Others through the weekend to serve up a menu rooted in his Cantonese roots and NYC upbringing. The menu: Eggplant Compress, Clam Crudo, Cumin Beef Tartare, Shrimp Cocktail, Market Salad, Jiew Yeem Silverfish, Tempura Cauliflower & Asparagus, Charsiu Pork Jowl, Chinois Steak Au Poivre, Fries and Mango Coconut Sago Trifle. I don’t think you can get more New York than Cumin Beef Tartare and we’re here for it.
Ramp Bagel
📍Gertie
🏠 602 Vanderbilt Ave, BK
🗓️ Thru Sun 4.26
: instagram @gertienyc
Gertie is fully embracing the New York spring’s short-lived bounty. They’re taking advantage of the ramps that come and quickly go by using them to seriously level up your bagel sandwich. Their own version of a limited collab, just between the kitchen and the season. Ramp Cream Cheese, dilly cukes, tomato, bacon and arugula. It’s truly my dream bagel come true.
Coco Boys
📍Sidewalk
🏠 147 Front St, BK
🗓️ Everyday thru September

: instagram @cocoboysnyc
Coco Boys are back and taking over the streets with fresh Thai coconuts and coconut ice cream. You can pop a straw right into the source, get a scoop, or go for the pro-move and order the Chili Dog. A brûléed brioche is filled with three scoops of coconut ice cream and hit with toppings like caramelized pineapple and peanuts.
This is just a taste of what’s poppin’ in the 8it app. If you have any suggestions to make the 8it app experience even better than it already is, don’t hesitate to shoot us a DM.
