Labor Day is summer’s last hurrah and that means celebrating the beginning of harvest season with the bounty the land has brought us. This week’s Must-Eats is full of opportunities to live off the land with a pop-up dedicated to heirloom tomatoes, elevated Filipino food featuring locally sourced produce, a three-course meal sourced directly from upstate and much more.

Hera x Regina’s x Back Home Farm

Hera, the roaming restaurant by Chef Jay Rodriguez known for creatively highlighting some of the best locally-sourced produce money can buy, is popping up at Regina’s on Orchard Street to say how ya doin’ 🤌 with a menu built around heirloom tomatoes from Back Home Farm this Saturday. Are you thinking BLTs? Fuhgeddaboudit. At Regina’s, bacon’s outta the picture, but his cuzzo prosciutto is bringing these sangwiches to the next level. PLTs with Calabrian chili aioli, MLTs (maitake mushroom, lettuce and tomato) with tomayo (yes, tomayo), charred baby corn with tomato sofrito and a corn panna cotta with roasted blueberries and shiso will feature on the menu. Norwich Meadows Farm x Family Meal at Blue Hill

Your favorite farm to table restaurant probably sources ingredients from Norwich Meadows Farm but Family Meal at Blue Hill went straight to the plug for this one. They are dropping a collab menu with ingredients sourced exclusively from Norwich to celebrate the bounty of summer this Monday. Two of their farmers will be Chef Mark Ordaz's kitchen hands as they execute dishes for service with ingredients they have presided over from cultivation in the field all the way to the dining room. Gunita by Chef Jason Mandia is popping up at FoodStruck on Monday and Tuesday with an an à la carte menu inspired by his studies of the culinary arts in the Philippines. After working at several Michelin restaurants, he’s been on a mission to bring elevated Filipino food to NYC. The menu will feature lechon sisig tacos, braised beef sinigang, grilled lemongrass chicken insal and much more made with farm fresh tomatoes, sweet onions, bokchoy and eggplants sourced from the Union Square Greenmarket. Bagel Bunny

A bagel pop-up nearly fifty years in the making will be at Che in Brooklyn this Saturday and Sunday. The vegetable yeast used for making every Bagel Bunny bagel was created by a Japanese Buddhist monk in 1974 and passed on, feeding on rice, apples, carrots and Japanese yam. After the yeast is mixed into dough, the bagels are rolled, boiled and baked then topped with an array of rotating toppings from yellowtail with ginger and jalapeño ponzu (pictured above), cream cheese and pickled veg, lobster with yuzukosho butter, uni cream and more. Black & White Sesame Yuzu Doughnut

Fan-Fan Doughnuts is dropping a black & white doughnut collab with Jesse Szewczyk, author of Cookies: The New Classics: A Baking Book. But this doughnut isn’t inspired by a typical vanilla and chocolate black & white cookie. A bite of this doughnut will unleash flavors of black and white sesame and yuzu.
