We started this app in 2019 to solve our personal pain point and got great response from the community. 8it curates dish recommendations and has a network of hidden gem hunters that curate certifiably dope dishes that need to be eaten! We are currently evolving 8it to be community first and leveraging Web3 primitives. This Edible NFT hunt is just the beginning. - #### What is the Edible NFT Hunt? We’ve partnered with amazing restaurants and projects to add a web3 twist to eating during NFT NYC! All you need to do you is eat amazing food and collect Edible NFTs. These NFTs will then be redeemable for amazing prizes (and also unlock additional opportunities as the 8it ecosystem expands). - #### Why should I participate? 8it believes the traditional ad-supported restaurant review model is broken. It often exploits the restaurant – who usually operate on paper thin margins already – and does not stay true to what’s most important – the food. Web3 has opened up new ways to embrace the ownership economy and create new business models. A model that doesn’t gouge the restaurant; provides value to the curator and supporters of the restaurant while solving a pain point for eaters. We are in the early innings of this. If you think you can help, contribute, improve or simply have some fun – we encourage you to come along for the ride! - #### What do I need to participate in this EdibleNFT Hunt? Eat Food at NFT NYC! Use the 8it app to find out Edible NFT enabled dishes and spots under the ‘NFT NYC’ category. Eat dope food and claim your free Edible NFT. Redeem for dope prizes after! - #### How do I claim the NFT? Simply press the ‘Dig In’ button from the 8it App, click on ‘Claim NFT’. Follow Instructions to claim. At some restaurants, you will find a special poster that you can ‘tap’ and claim your NFT by following the instructions. At most places however, you will simply take a photo of the dish and submit it with your wallet/email and restaurant name. You do not need to have a mobile wallet to claim. There will be an option to claim the NFT on desktop later. - #### How do I earn rewards and prizes? Every Edible NFT you collect will have points associated with it. The more points you have, the more rewards you can claim. After the hunt is over, you will be able to connect to a site to claim any rewards that you are eligible. We will communicate more about the redemption mechanism as we get closer to the Hunt. - #### Will these NFTs be useful for anything else? You’ll have to wait and find out 🙂 All we can say is that the Edible NFT and 8it team is very excited to scale this concept beyond NFT NYC over time. - #### Where will the NFTs be minted? EdibleNFTs will be minted on Polygon. You will need a Ethereum based wallet (Metamask, Coinbase etc. ) to participate. If you have no idea what this means – [Here is a guide](https://decentralizedcreator.com/create-metamask-wallet/) on how create a Metamask Wallet. Welcome to the exciting world of NFTs and Web3! - #### Where can I learn more? Hop into our [discord](https://discord.gg/FBSbjxYMa4) and follow us on [twitter](https://twitter.com/EdibleNft) where we will share more information. Download the [8it App](https://8itapp.page.link/appstore) and use password ‘NFTNYC’ when prompted. Scroll to find the category and press search. - #### Can I sell the NFT? No. These will be non-transferrable, non-sellable NFTs. - #### Can’t I just buy these NFTs? No. You can only obtain them by minting them. - #### Will the NFT be available on OpenSea? Yes. We will share the collection in discord and twitter when its available. - #### Who should participate and why? As an eater, If you are in NFT NYC and are planning to eat amazing food – then this is for you! Have some fun while eating, flex your digital belly and and who knows, maybe get a rare NFT as a reward 🙂 As a chef or restaurant, engage with the web3 natives and start creating your tokenized community. As a brand, connect with web3 natives through the common language of food. As a curious and creative entrepreneur – be part of something amazing!   ![ On Pi Day 2022, we teamed up with Chef Christian Petroni to unveil our first-ever Edible NFT to the world .
